If you ask people does money buy happiness, they all get very high-minded and say, well, of course not and they begin to preach to you about love, meaning and other things. But if you examine their behavior you might conclude they not only think money buys happiness, they don’t think anything else buys happiness. Economics and happiness have a lot to do with each other. What can we learn and what can economists learn from research on happiness? And what can we learn about happiness from economists? Robert Frank, Justin Wolfers, and Daniel Gilbert speak at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
