IN FRANCE!!!?? SERIOUSLY??…MORE DARK SIDE TO RELIGIOUS INTERPRETATION… Ohhhhh the ambiguity! Ohhhh the variety of interpretation and therefore mass confusion, and where to even start with deciding which version is correct when it comes to religion. Islam is fair to women they say… Yet we still have Malala Yousafzai shot for going to school and now fighting for the right for women to get basic education in areas of her native Pakistan…. So people then defend Islam by saying, ‘that’s just the fundamentalists in specific rural areas of the world, that’s not the real Islam, that’s just a minority’…. Islam is fair to women they say, YET IN VARIOUS SUBURBS OF A MODERN EUROPEAN NATION, FRANCE, WOMEN ARE TOO AFRAID TO ROAM THE STREETS OR ENTER CAFE’S AND BARS, as the ‘normal’ not fundamentalist Muslim men dominate and demand their interpretation of religious teachings are implemented. FRANCE!!!!???

I’m not a hater of religion, I’m a promoter of reason… Religion though is a major obstacle that stops people thinking critically, and progressing in a variety of ways… The ‘normal’ or ‘fundamentalist’ of any faith, a believer is always bound with a fear of how their god will assess new ideas that may oppose their teachings and those depending on which of the interpretations of the religious text they are indoctrinated with…. It’s not even a fear of god most of the time, it’s more the fear of ridicule from the community they are in, and some are way too aggressive with their stance, so women just get on with and accept their circumstances, not even bothering to demonstrate if that’s what they wanted to do deep down…
The conversations and debates must continue, to alert all about the obstacles and complications faith based beliefs bring about. Religion has nothing to do with fair and critical thinking because if it was, people would simply flow with the new evidence they are presented with as time goes by and not spend 150 years still debating things like evolution for example. All types of religious belief is egocentric no matter how soft and fluffy one’s interpretations may be.
I discuss and debate faith often with harmless, friendly Christian Cypriots in my country, and although they are not aggressive and are tolerant, they just want to get on with their lives, of which I’m more than happy to accept their freedom to, but every single conversation on the topic with them is riddled with egocentric nonsense, no matter how polite and softly spoken they may be… All have an ugly, stubborn point of view and turn a blind eye to reason and evidence whenever it contradicts their version of events. THIS IS ARROGANCE and nothing less, but accepted due to the softness of their approach. This is actually fuel that feeds those who are more aggressive and / or overpowering with their approach as these types are part of a total majority that all come together eventually with numbers such as 2 billion followers or 1.5 billion followers, using this number to validate their ignorance, being part of a majority therefore makes their belief true! WRONG!!! Evidence makes something true!
