The ‘connectome’ is a comprehensive map of all neural connections that make up a nervous system. Billions of neurons are connected by trillions of connections forming one large super network: the brain.

In a way, our brain looks like a big city with countless apartment buildings, shopping malls, office buildings, all connected by a massive network of interconnecting roads. And just like the character of New York is not defined by a single building or a single street, our brain cannot be defined by a single brain region or a single connection. Its the ‘flow’ of information within the entire network that makes our brain unique. The connectome as a city of our mind…
